This video is from the shoot we did with the band Shift a while back. This shoot was one of the first times I took the new Canon Eos 60D on location. In a complete blizzard (Sorry for that Canon). The 60D is generally not made for shooting in this kind of weather but a thick cloth kept it pretty dry. The only thing that peeked out under the cloth was the 24-70mm lens which has already proven to be very weather sealed.
Because we were all nearly freezing to death we couldn’t shoot for a long time so I decided to just use two bare flashes(covered in plastic bags) and keep complexity to a minimum. We ended up shooting for a little over 20 minutes. After that I spent five hours chained to a heater drinking a gallon of coffee.
I’ve had shoots where I had more fun during shooting, I must admit. But I love extreme weather conditions, it can make a simple image look so dramatic.
