Ok, so last week I basically made my debute as filmaker. Not that it’s really a plan for me to do in the future, just a rather fun thing to do. The concept I had in mind was pretty straightforward. I wanted a girl to dream a typical boys dream. There were so many option to choose from, fighter pilot, soldier, firefighter but the winner was the racing driver. A few calls later we had our location and our car. We filmed everything in one, long night, Shot everything with available light and for a first time. I must say I’m pretty pleased with the result.
The film, if you can call it a film, stars the always amazing Ella Brock as the character and was shot entirely by me with the help of friend and assistant Koen Miseur.
Hope You enjoy it! (be sure to watch in in HD, the location had loads of details that go to waste in low resolution video)

For all you Tech geeks out there. Here is what we used.
We shot everything on the Canon Eos 7D and used a basic still camera tripod (not ideal, but good enough). For getting all the specific looks and angles in the movie we used a variety of Canon L glass: the 17-40 f4L for the wide pans in the beginning and the slamming doorshot, the 24-70 2.8L for the walking shots, 85 1.2L for the close-ups

Liking it, especially for the available light it’s very clean and well lit. Also like the angles of the shots. But next time, a better tripod, would make it even better.
