Today I got the chance to get a quick look at Leica’s youngest offspring. The brand spanking new Leica T mirrorless camera.
The first thing I noticed is how much bigger it is then I thought it would be. And thats a good thing. It looks sort of small on the press release photos. But it’s a proper en solid camera. It also feels good in your hands.
This camera has nothing whatsoever to do with the M-series camera’s. There is not even one resemblance to it’s bigger, fullframe brother. With a one-piece all aluminium sleek chassis and touchscreen display, it’s a camera for the future.
Not only does it look “gans geil” but it’s packed with 21st century gadgets such as wifi connection with a smartphone app, quick menu’s. Leica wouldn’t be Leica if the new T-sytem camera wasn’t packing a massive options and gadget list such as funky bodyshell covers and straps, viewfinders and most importantly a Leica M-mount adapter.
Inside the camera there is an APS- C sensor and with the release there is a lovely 23mm F/2 lens and and a standard 11-56 3.5-5.6 zoom lens.
I’m not yet going to make any comments on image quality because I’ve only spent fifteen minutes with the camera. But surely that will change sooner rather then later. So I’ll just leave you with some quick shots I made from the camera and a selfie with the camera 🙂
And here my first two photos with the Leica T
And also the most boring ad ever made.
