As I mentioned on this page before. I love motorsport, and I love shooting it. Though I’m not a full time exclusive motorsport photographer I really really enjoy shooting races and a few races in particular. One of my favourite races is the legendary 24h of Spa. Or the biggest GT race in the world right it our back yard. (ahem 90min’s of driving from the office)
The 24 hours of Spa, is as the name says a race that last over twenty four hours. It starts on saturday at 16:30 and ends at the same time on sunday. And that means men and machine must keep up the pace for a very very long time. What that also means is that it’s one of the few opportunities for some night time racing. Which happens to be one of my favourite things in the world. Luckily I had a the new Canon 1D-X Mk II on hand for some high ISO stuff and a local Canon partner (Foto Robyns, kindly fixed me up with a 300mm 2.8 IS)
This is what it looked like.
[Tech] Canon 1DX MkII, 16-35mm 2.8L, 50mm 1.2L, 300mm 2.8L IS
